For who it Matter, She is an american  actress.Zoe was born in Passaic she grew up in Queens, New York and is fluent in English and Spanish. Zoe discovered a keen interest in performance dance and began her training at the prestigious ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy where she learned ballet as well as other dance forms. Not only did her training provide an excellent outlet for the enthusiastic and energetic youngster, it would also prove to be a fortunate precursor for the start of her professional acting career. At age 17, Zoe and her family moved back to the United States where her love for dance followed and an interest in theater performance became stronger, so she starting taking classes in the Faces Theater Program. In mid-90s she worked as a cashier at Burger King.
She began her acting career in an episode of Law & Order that aired on October 13, 1999, while studying at the Faces Theater Program courses. Zoe left school after appearing in the film "Center Stage" (2000). After that she starred as Anamaria in the film "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" (2003). Then Zoe landed the role of Uhura in the "Star Trek" film, and she also got a lead part in another little movie called "Avatar", both of which came to theaters in 2009. She is slated to be in the sequels for both films, making 2009 one good year for Zoe. Zoe recently reprised her roll as Uhura in Star Trek: Into Darkness (2013). She can also be see in the Marvel studio's Sci-Fi/Superhero film Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) as the alien assassin, Gamora.
Zoe appeared in the video for the song "The Key to my Heart" by the Colombian singer Juan Luis Guerra, and has been ranked #42 in Maxim magazine's Hot 100 list. She said "I admire Hillary Clinton", and she took part in her campaign as did America Ferrera.
